My culinary story began about 10 years ago when we were given homework at home economics school to bring one home-made dessert each. Since my parents never loved to cook too much, I could only dream of some homemade cookies. I remember feeling really embarrassed because I was the only one in the class to bring the cake I bought at the time. That day I decided to try baking on my own. On the same day, our small apartment in Ljubljana smelled of homemade marble cake, which we ate so hot and so fast that all of us at home had an unbearable stomach ache. With this event, my culinary career was sealed. But like any story, this one has its own complication. After several years of unsuccessful attempts to establish a healthy relationship with diet and moderate activity, I discovered weight training in 2014 and fell completely in love with it. Yes, dear ladies, muscles are not only for males, but also for women of great importance.
Without them, it is difficult to lose weight and impossible to reshape the physique, especially if you have inconsistencies. You can probably imagine my immense joy when, as a typical “non-athlete”, I finally discovered a sport that makes me happy. But my discoveries were not over; after a long reading of Internet articles about what kind of diet is most optimal for health and physical activity, after many years of trying different types of diets, everything from low-carb, low-fat, cereal-free, gluten-free, etc. I came to the conclusion that there is no universal ideal diet!

The matter is simple, the best way to eat is the one you can stick to. Not just this week, not just next month, but a lifetime. I completely found myself in a flexible diet, or. English IIFYM (if it fits your macros). The essential difference between a flexible diet and all other diets, or. ways of eating is that flexible eating does not limit any type of food. For me, in the past, restricting certain foods led to an even greater desire for them, and I was constantly stressed and unhappy about it. So I eat everything, but adjust the amount to my goals (if you want more information about IIFYM, google is your best friend).

Of course, I also emphasize that I still try to make my food repertoire consist of as many whole foods as possible, which satiate me for a longer time and make me feel better and have more energy. I try to use as much locally grown food as possible and as little white sugar as possible, because I can easily replace it with much healthier stevia. erythriols, which are much less sweet and do not cause the desire for "more". Nevertheless, I often indulge my favorite Jelly Beans candies from time to time without a guilty conscience, because I just love them and they don't harm me in a healthy amount in achieving my goals. Balance is important!

Why did everything I wrote contribute to the creation of this blog? Until I regulated my diet, my commitment to cooking and baking really suffered, as I was quite unproductive due to unnecessary food restrictions in this area. I am glad that I finally managed to combine these two areas, which makes me happy and added a photo that has always interested me, but due to lack of self-confidence due to lack of "formal" education in this field, I somehow did not dare to take it more seriously. We taste people with our eyes first, and then only with our palates - I keep this fact in mind all the time when I prepare pictorial material for my recipes and I am not satisfied until the recipe looks really tempting.
I fell in love with t.i. food styling, and not a day goes by that I don’t spend at least an hour reading online cooking blogs and looking for new ideas. Due to my overwhelming interest in social media and online advertising, I decided to take my hobbies to the next level with this blog.
So this project is a huge turning point for me, as it reflects me as I am this moment: full of life, with meaning and mission, surrounded by people who support me and in anticipation of the new challenges that life brings me. 🙂
